We received 39 registrations for our recent Apprentice Open Day to recruit an apprentice joiner, roofer, general operative and painter. The event, held at Borders College – Hawick Campus, comprised 2 identical sessions in the morning and afternoon, with presentations from Waverley Housing, Borders College and CITB also providing their SLE selection test.
Candidates who passed the selection test on the day were invited to attend the next ‘interview’ stage in the recruitment process, with unsuccessful candidates all being offered ‘what next’ guidance on the other career and training options available to them.
