alterations and improvements

This is all the more important particularly if it relates to a change in use from electricity to gas so that we are aware of the change and can include your property in those that require to be annually checked for gas safety. Click here for more info on fuel safety and storage.
You may decide that you want to alter or improve your home. You might want to build a shed, knock down a wall, install double glazing or central heating etc. DO NOT carry out any work until you have our permission in writing. We will want to make sure that the work won?t damage your home or make it unsafe. The work you propose may also require Planning Permission and/or a Building Warrant. In each of these cases you will be responsible for the costs incurred.
Painting and Decorating
You are responsible for keeping the internal decoration in good order. This includes papering or painting of walls and the painting of woodwork. However you are not permitted to paint any of the fixtures or fittings e.g. fitted kitchen units etc. without our prior permission.
Floor Coverings (Laminate Flooring)
You must request permission from Waverley Housing before you lay any laminate flooring.
To apply for permission to make an alteration in your home you need to complete a simple form available from any of our offices, or it may be downloaded from this link below.
