An innovative new messaging system entitled SB Alert has been launched by Scottish Borders Council in conjunction with Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and NHS Borders.  It is the first project of its kind to be rolled out across a local authority area in Scotland.

SB Alert will provide individuals and organisations in communities across the Scottish Borders with up-to-date information on:

  • Emergencies
  • Weather warnings
  • Utility failure updates
  • Crimes
  • Trading standards issues

SB Alert can be used by

  • Community Councils
  • Resilient Communities Groups
  • Farmers
  • Voluntary and community groups
  • Shops
  • Businesses
  • Neighbourhood Watch
  • Housing Associations
  • Individuals
