From time to time property owners may find themselves in financial difficulties and may be under threat of losing their homes. The Scottish Government has set up a scheme called Mortgage to Rent through their Home Owners’ Support Fund. Under the Mortgage to Rent part of the fund, your home will be bought by a housing association or local authority and you will continue to live there as a tenant, paying a monthly rent.
This may not be the solution for everyone as it very much depends on individual circumstances.
