Waverley’s Howard Walker presents a Laptop Computer to The Almond Tree Community Café in Hawick
The recently opened Hawick community café, trading as “The Almond Tree”, were delighted to receive a donation of a laptop computer from Waverley Housing for the use of customers. It is part of the charities vision that there will be a place inside the café which will be dedicated as an area where anybody can come to gain internet access and staff will be on hand to guide and help members of the public in form filling/job applications or general computer awareness. The café was never envisaged as merely another eating place on the High Street but as a place with a beating heart for the underprivileged and disadvantaged in the community. Waverley is pleased to assist in this venture.
